The 30th Annual General Meeting of the Shipiing Association of Barbados was held at its offices on Tuesday 7th June, 2011 at which Mr.L. Marc Sampson was re-elected to the Post of President for another year.
A new Vice president was elected to serve for the first time in Mr.Rovel Morris of Goddards Shipping & Tours Ltd.
Also elected for the first time was Mr. Michael Thornhill of Goddards Shipping & Tours Ltd. who replaced Mr. Anthony Gittens .
2011 sees The Barbados Port Inc. celebrating fifty (50) years since the opening of the Bridgetown Port.
At the same time The Shipping Association is celebrating thirty (30) years as an Association . Together these two organisations will be hosting the forty-first (41st) Annual General Meeting of The Caribbean Shipping Association in October this year.
Many varied and exciting events are planned for Delegates and their Spouses expected to attend this meeting.

Mr.L.Marc Sampson, Director of Sales at Windward Agencies Ltd. was elected President of The Shipping Association of Barbados (SAB) for the year 2010 to 2011 for his first term when the 29th Annual General Meeting of the Shipping Asssociation of Barbados was held at our conference room in June 2010.
Other members elected to the Committee of Management were: Mr. Wayne Bowen of Sea Freight Agencies(B'dos) Ltd as Vice President; Mr. Anthony Gittens of A. G. Marine Transport Agency Services Ltd. and Mr. Kevyn Yearwood of Platinum Port Agency as Trustees; Mr. Rovel Morris of Goddards Shipping & Tours Ltd, Ltd, Mr. Scott Veira of Robulk Agencies Inc. and Mr. Robert Foster form the remainder of the Committee of Management along with Mr.Glyne St.Hill who now serves as Immediate Past President.
Other News:
Mr.David Harding, the longest serving member and President of the Shipping Association did not seek re-election to the Commiitee of Management for the coming year. He had expressed to the meeting that having served the Association as a member of the Committee of Management for its twenty-nine years he was taking a break but would continue to assist whenever called.The Members of the Association thanked him and wished him well.
